The Serbian Council of Great Britain is
an independent, non-profit, non-political organisation established to promote the interests of the Serbian community in Great Britain.
It is estimated that over 70 000 Serbs or people of Serbian origin live in Great Britain.
The need for the Serbs in Great Britain to have a body to represent them in relations with the homeland as well as with British institutions has long
been acknowledged. As a result, the Serbian Council of Great Britain was founded in London in February 2004 after over a year of intensive consultations
within the Serbian community in Great Britain. In developing our aims we sought to obtain support and advice from existing diaspora organisations
and a range of prominent individuals from all walks of life. Our membership reflects this aim, with members coming from diverse backgrounds, different
parts of Great Britain and from all generations.
