The Serbian Society is delighted to announce that it has been invited to participate in this year’s Parliament Week. Parliament Week is a programme of events and activities that take place across the whole of the UK aiming to inspire, engage and connect people with parliamentary democracy. Partners, like the Serbian Society, form a major part of the programme with participation from Members of both Houses. Parliament Week (PW) is delivered by the House of Commons with the support of the House of Lords and will run from 14th to 20th November, 2014.
Every year a PW has a particular focus and this year the theme is ‘youth, social media and democracy’ and for this project we are looking for 10-12 participants. The Serbian Society is looking for university students with an interest in social media and politics. We would ideally like to have two sets of participants, 5-6 domestic students and 5-6 students up to the age of 24 who have come from Serbia specifically to study at a UK university. This project will start in July and will take place during PW in November. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to create and run a project they will help design with the full support of the Society. If you’d like to take part in this exciting opportunity please send your CV and covering letter to [email protected]
Your covering letter should include why you’d like to take part in PW, a brief introduction and what you believe you can contribute to this project. Please ensure that your CV includes the names of two referees, one of which needs to be from your university. Applications should be received by midnight 10th July and interviews will take place soon after.
